I uploaded that other photo of my hair bow via my phone so I didn’t realize how blurry it was! You can barely see the bow. It’s all my own hair. So here are extra photos where you can actually see the hair bow AND of course photos of some of my lovely friends.

The hair bow is super easy to do btw! :D

So there’s that.

So there’s that.

Hair

I had a traumatizing hair experience when first moving to the bay area. I had been growing out my hair and asked the woman I went to that I wanted a trim and to please keep it long. I spent over 2 years getting my hair long only to have her chop it off. I could barely put it in a ponytail.

I don’t know what it is about an attachment to hair but of course I burst into tears after that. It’s one thing if I CHOOSE to chop my hair off. It’s another if someone does it without asking me.

So after many trials with new hairdressers, I had better luck in general (they certainly didn’t chop off all my hair) but I was hoping to be blown away by a cut and style. Finally, I found the one: Scotty from Oxenrose in San Francisco.

After a session with Scotty my hair gets brighter, shinier and happier. Seriously. Also, I can go a full 24 hours or more without washing my hair and it still looks really great. I don’t know how he does it but it’s like magic.

I highly recommend Scotty - especially for long hair. He’s so good I thought he deserved a blog post. I already wrote a review for him on Yelp but maybe this will help if someone is just searching on google. If you’re in San Francisco, see Scotty at Oxenrose. He does not disappoint! :)

Trimmed and cleaned up my bangs myself. I think I’m going to do this myself from now on!

Saints Row: The Third - The Haircut

I finally got around to posting a video about my Saints Row character and the haircut she inspired. I don’t have a capture device for my Xbox, hence why you don’t see any in-game footage of the character herself (major sad face). BUT I still felt it was worth putting together so I could include a montage of clips from the game itself to show why I like it to much.

That said, there is a lot I left out too as I didn’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t played it yet. There’s way more goodies than you see in the video!

If you didn’t pick up Saints Row: The Third you are seriously missing out on a lot of fun! You should give it a try. :)

When I first started Saints Row: The Third (on January 13th! I know the date thanks to Raptr) I decided to create a character that loosely looked like me, but better and more awesome. The voice acting and character in the actual game is of course way more bad ass. Thank you video games for that ability. Anyhow, out of the long hair options for character customization, I liked the long hair with straight bangs the best on her.
Within the first hour of playing the game, I fell in love with the game and the character so much that I decided I needed to get the same haircut as my character. The hair stylist I always go to was out of town though when I made that decision. Finally, he came back this past Thursday and I had my appointment yesterday.
VOILA! I now have my Saints Row: The Third character’s haircut! I still may not be as awesome as her, but it certainly makes me feel awesome. SUCCESS!
This is how the hair looked when the pro styled it. I think I like it best totally straight though since it is more reminiscent of my girl. :D
Now all I need is a pair of fake 45s so I can run around and play pretend. In the privacy of my apartment, of course.
