Day 2: Avengers Thor and Loki
Ah, yes. The controversial cosplay that is ravaging tumblr right now.
It’s a shame, really. This costume was my very first cosplay I’ve done from scratch. Right down to the top and skirt. However all that is being lost due to ignorance. In fact, this kind of attention is making my cousin ill. So this is why racism is important to acknowledge, why its important to realize how whiteness in our favorite media is helping to shape people into saying that we’re just silly ‘black girls’ for being anything else other than ‘gangsta’ girls and aunt jemimas.

My cousin is the lovely Lady Loki and I am Lady Thor.
Um I think you two did great, specially those helmets. Nice job. Then again I am Thor biased so way to go ^_^ . On another note, where did you find the Otakon pics I have been searching for what seems like forever.

Accepting change or things that are not the usual can be hard. Some people simply refuse to make the effort. Or acknowledge the need to do so.
All I see here is two awesome ladies in two fabulous costumes having fun.
Anyone who sees anything else…well, they’re the problem. Not the two of you.

VENGEANCE is a 5-issue mini-series that’s published by Marvel. It’s written by the brilliant Joe Casey, and illustrated by the ridiculously talented Nick Dragotta, with covers by the amazing Gabrielle Dell’Otto.
It’s about the new breed of super-villains in the Marvel Universe. And it’s one of the best books Marvel is publishing right now. You should read it, because it’s pretty damn good. You really can’t go wrong with Casey and Dragotta.
